Dior Spring/Summer 2012 Couture Highlights

This post is a little late (thanks ever so spring storms) but Dior is beautiful no matter when this overworked blogger can get around to sharing her favorites. I'll get back on track soon, I promise. My new new motto is; Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor eccentric lightening strikes can hold a good girl down!!

Lots of love ;) Next week: May Favorites, Hauls and some Summer styling ideas.

What was your favorite S/S show????

Just as an FYI; my electric was struck by lightening in a spring storm and I've been without *gasp* internet access for a bit now. Hopefully I'll be back up this week!! Miss you all :) xoxo

Now I know the photos might look a bit repetitive, but hear me out. I wanted to show you how one key item -in this case a blue floral blazer- can be reworked many (maybe too many!) times over to suit different style personalities/ pair it with other articles of clothing & accessories to create more than one outfit.
This is also known as the "how-to-talk-one's self-into-paying-pretties-and-creating-a-valid-excuse-for-the-purchase"

Blazer: Unknown, Glasses: Tom Ford, Shoes: Jimmy Choo, Ring: T&Co., Belt: 3.1 Phillip Lim,
Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Pants: Athe Vanessa Bruno, Top: Anthropologie, Clutch: Bottega Venta.

Braclet: Bling Deenie, Shorts: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rings: Maria Francesca Pepe. Necklace: Maria Black,
Shoes: Zara, Top: Anthro. Glasses: Tom Ford. Earrings: Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Clutch: Louboutin, Necklace: Kate Spade, Scarf: Alice + Olivia, Glasses: Gucci, Ring:  Bling Deenie, Pants: 3.1 Phillip Lim,
Top: Anthro., Shoes: Zara.

Clutch: Rebecca Minkhoff, Shoes: Zara, Belt: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Ring: Low Luv, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs,
Pants: Piazza Sempione, Top: Anthro., Glasses: Gucci.

Romper : 3.1 Phillip Lim, Orange Wedge: Zara, Multi-Colored Wedge: Ugg, Bangles: Free People,
Ring: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Clutch: Rebecca Minkhoff, Center Photo: Gucci from a few seasons ago. Ring: Ippolita.

Earrings: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Bag: Proenza Schouler, Shoes: Zara, Glasses: Tom Ford, Pants: Piazza Sempione,
Top: Anthro, Red Ring: Bling Deeni, Silver Ring: Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Using some of the same pieces from my "wardrobe" (I wish!) you can mix it up with floral capris and a neutral blazer.
Blazer: Elizabeth & James, Top: Anthro., Earrings: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Shoes: All Zara, Bangles: Kate Spade & they have the cutest sayings on them! Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Bag: Proenza Schouler, Cuff: Tory Burch.
As an aside; how adorable is this jumper?? I want this in my collection so badly. It's incredibly versatile (which is why I paired it with a dozen shoes and they all worked with it!) and makes anyone look leggy. And  it reminds me of JLO in here Papi (?) music vid. Gimme!!

For the edgier of us, distressed floral denim shorts by Current & Elliott with a colorful blazer makes a punchy statement this summer.
Studded sandal: Zara, Shorts: Current & Elliott, Orange sandal: Kors by Michael Kors, Clutch: Rebbeca Minkhoff,
Chain Ring: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Top: Anthro., Armour Ring: Low Luv, Glasses: Tom Ford.

And lastly: how I'd paired it if I was lucky enough to own any of these gorgeous pieces!

I know this was a bit bulky and I apologize! Hopefully you were able to enjoy it regardless. Let me know what you think!
What's your signature clothing item?

 Til Next Time!!

 xoxo,

 Tes

Recently I've been lucky enough to come across several once in a life time fashion finds. And my purchases have gotten me thinking that when one buys a statement article of clothing, it tends to be expensive enough that you hem & haw over the purchase and that it inevitably becomes a cornerstone of your wardrobe.

When you're lusting after that worthy cornerstone piece, remember that A: if it's truly you, you can make it a signature piece and B: if it's amazing enough you can wear it a hundred different ways and still look fresh & original.
So, allow me to be that little devil on your shoulder. If it won't starve you or force you to lose the roof over your head (in which case tell me to stuff it!) go for it!!
Life is meant to be lived & in the immortal words of Auntie Mame "Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!"

With this in mind, I put together a spread of how you can take one statement piece and rework it several different ways. FYI I stuck within the same color/style pattern so it could work for different body types/personalities. In the future I'll try the same technique and step a bit farther outside the box.

As of late I've become obsessed with floral. I found some stunning floral print shorts, pants and blazers I worked a few design ideas around. First up, a spectacular pair of Alice + Olivia capris I played around with.

Next up: Stop by tomorrow for some more blooming ideas. Yes that was a terrible pun. I'm not witty until after midnight and I've an hour to go ;)

Let me know which grouping you like best or how you'd pair it! I'd love to know!!

 xoxo,

 Tes

Hiya dearies. I know I've been behind in my posting lately. Procrastination will be the downfall of me! But I have a bunch of new favorites, some adorable new clothing and beauty products for spring/summer and I'm running some errands in a little bit, so I may even have a quick haul video. I know there are mixed feeling on hauls, but I love watching everybody else's to get ideas what to buy/what not to buy/where to shop/inspiration. Hopefully you'll be inspired too! I'll do a full post in the next day or so but I wanted to let you all know that I'm not lost!! Love to all of you. I hope you're having a wonderful day!!

Real quick: Top Ten Things at this moment & I tag all of you!

1: Handwritten letters. Send a thank you, a random card to a friend. Go all out! Use pretty pen and paper, sealing wax and spritz with perfume. Send a love note with a lipstick kiss.

2: Pirate brands white cheddar cheese puffs. Yummy!

3: Southern living cookbook. I tried the baked ziti (I added bruschetta and a salad - delish!) and the southwestern pizza. FYI I did add more seasoning and peppers to both.

4:  Frank Lloyd Wright earrings in the shape of chairs. I just got them and I'm in love with their quirky cuteness. I've been wearing them non-stop and I'll make sure to show them later.

5: Sunshine. Laying out listening to music in the sun, fastest pick me up in the world.

6: Neon Trees' new CD Picture Show.

7: Lora Leigh's naughty thrillers are a hot read for around the pool.

8: White crop jeans and turquoise espadrilles.

9: Crossword puzzles; I just started playing and am getting addicted.

10: All things Dior.

What are you're Top Ten Things right now?? Talk to you soon sweets!

Obsession: Sunglasses edition

El Toro volunteered to help out with these Etro lovelies. Tortis-shell bands and pewter detailing, with brown lenses. Euro chic extraordinaire.
I admit I have an obsession with accessories in all forms; rings, necklaces, bracelets, scarfs, shoes, earrings, purses, belts, hair gewgaws, more exotic jewelry such as belly chains and connected ring/bracelet combos and my personal downfall...Sunglasses.
My go to shades. I love these so much I own them in both plum and black.

Every woman has that thing, the unique item that no matter how many she has - be they black dresses or red shoes - she wants another one. Because in her eyes it's completely different from the 40 others she already has.
To her significant other is can look like a highly specified form of hoarding, but to her sisters in shopping; we understand. For us it may be yet another white tee shirt or cocktail ring, but honey we're right there with you in buying our 15th pair of ballet flats just because we don't have pair at home with this exact configuration of beading. And really, flats are so practical.

I thought I'd share some of my sunglasses collection with you m'dears - let me know if you love 'em or hate 'em!

What item to you always find yourself buying another one of?? I'd love to know!!

Ray-Ban Wayfarers: Old school edge
Norma Kamali Thrift Store Score: Lady like luxe

Ray-Bans + Ozzy Osborn = Seriously pushing limits of fashion sanity. <3 them!

Brighton: I've never actually worn these yet, but the silver detailing is pretty adorable

50 cents at garage. Vintage. Huge. My All time fav pair.
Cole-Haan: Garage sale. 50 cents. Perfect condition. Could I ask for anything more?
Best wishes, xoxoxooo tes

Spring 2012 Wish List

My style could best be described as mad men meets wild wild west meets cali-boho meets 80's club (country club to night club). Imagine if Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly had a love child and you would have a fairly accurate description of my style, personality and appearance.
For spring I'm on the look out for some denim, silver and turquoise, an over-sized clutch, knotted button downs, crop tops and much more.
For a look at some of the current items I'm lusting after and maybe some inspiration take a gander at some of these pics! Let me know what's on your wish list too!
