Obsession: Sunglasses edition

El Toro volunteered to help out with these Etro lovelies. Tortis-shell bands and pewter detailing, with brown lenses. Euro chic extraordinaire.
I admit I have an obsession with accessories in all forms; rings, necklaces, bracelets, scarfs, shoes, earrings, purses, belts, hair gewgaws, more exotic jewelry such as belly chains and connected ring/bracelet combos and my personal downfall...Sunglasses.
My go to shades. I love these so much I own them in both plum and black.

Every woman has that thing, the unique item that no matter how many she has - be they black dresses or red shoes - she wants another one. Because in her eyes it's completely different from the 40 others she already has.
To her significant other is can look like a highly specified form of hoarding, but to her sisters in shopping; we understand. For us it may be yet another white tee shirt or cocktail ring, but honey we're right there with you in buying our 15th pair of ballet flats just because we don't have pair at home with this exact configuration of beading. And really, flats are so practical.

I thought I'd share some of my sunglasses collection with you m'dears - let me know if you love 'em or hate 'em!

What item to you always find yourself buying another one of?? I'd love to know!!

Ray-Ban Wayfarers: Old school edge
Norma Kamali Thrift Store Score: Lady like luxe

Ray-Bans + Ozzy Osborn = Seriously pushing limits of fashion sanity. <3 them!

Brighton: I've never actually worn these yet, but the silver detailing is pretty adorable

50 cents at garage. Vintage. Huge. My All time fav pair.
Cole-Haan: Garage sale. 50 cents. Perfect condition. Could I ask for anything more?
Best wishes, xoxoxooo tes

March Favorites

Well we are half way through March and I have been slow in posting due to extra work, so I apologize! However, I am carving out 10 minutes to share some of my favorite things this month and I'll be back soon with loads more posts! Look for some novel Spring trend ideas, makeup looks and fashion/shopping tips. Til then, lotsa love dearies!!

Butter London Nail Polish In "Trout Pout"
Makeup Winners:
1: Butter London nail polish in trout pout - gorgeous cream coral shade. I'm saving it for an Easter moment, but I'll do a swatch as soon as I get it! I'm dying to get it on my fingertips!
Revlon Lip Butter in "Cupcake"

2: Revlon Lip Butters - call me the mini Paula Deen of the beauty world, but I love these!! They are creamy, packed with color and simply perfect. I don't like lipstick on me, but these are a ideal blend between lip balm and lipstick. I have four, with plans to buy two more. To be honest I have never owned so many of one items before! I have peach parfait, creme brulee,  candy apple and cupcake.

3: Nars lipgloss in Super Orgasm. Perfect pink! I love to layer it over my lip butter in creme brulee - prettiest combo ever! I'll try and add a photo of the look later.

4: Maybelline's 24 hour tattoo cream shadow - wonderful product. I have it in Too Cool and it is amazing. Lasts forever, doesn't crease, makes my eyes big, bright and sparkling. Can layer it under another to create some uniquely gorgeous shade.

In Shade "Too Cool"
5: Too Faced's Glamour to go II and brightening blush in pinch my petals - love this company!! The products are fabulous, the packaging glamorous and they are cruelty free! How awesome is that? If you've never tried it before- do it!! Super velvety, long lasting, pigmented, non-greasy products. And chock full of saucy attitude!

6: Maybelline's gel eyeliner in Expresso - pigmented, long lasting and affordable.

7: Maybelline's great lash - I only just tried this recently, but I am in love! I don't like most mascaras because I have naturally pretty long, dark, thick lashes and most mascaras are just too harmful. This one however doesn't do all that damage, has the perfect brush for me, comes in a Lilly Pulitzer pink and green package and is super affordable. What more could I ask for?

8: Kat Von D's Tattoo concealer in Sand- looks natural, lasts forever, covers very well.

Clothing:
I have an apparently French habit of picking a handful of outfits every season and wearing them like an uniform. I also attempt to buy multiples of any object I like whenever possible. I'll take photos later, but just to give you an idea, my current go-to is dark wash, lightly distressed cuffed denim shorts, a mid-riff blue and white striped tee, colorful enamel bangles, flip-flops and a belt. Very laid back and cute. I throw on a big Michael Kors bag in caramel leather, with a Coach scarf in purples tied around the strap and black ray-bans to finish off the look.

Random:

1: 1979 White Corvette tricked out with all the modern conveniences. Hey, cars are all part of the presentation. Now sadly, I do not possess this accessory, but trust me it is most definitely a favorite.

2: Ice tea.

3: the band Neon trees.

4: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

5: The novel Gone with the Wind.

6: Rollerblading

7: The fact summer is nearly here!

8: Thrifting

Hello Dearies. When I woke up this morning and saw the sun shining brilliantly, the sky blue and fluffy white clouds cavorting above, I somehow transported myself to -the highly romanticized  version- days of pioneers, camping around the fire, traveling across untamed country, wearing patched up denim dresses. I thought I'd throw a modern day version with a  couple of looks for you all to enjoy. Now you can style this a million different ways; retro, romantic, boho, motocross. Whatever fits your style. These are just a couple of looks. P.S. Free People is having a "Prairie Girl" look too, but I didn't know that until after I'd done my looks. Fortunately they aren't very similar, but if you'd like to check their stylings out as well - here's the link! http://www.freepeople.com/vintage-loves-prairie-girl/

Feelin' Funky

As much as of a throw back I am and enamored of all things ladylike - there is still a part of me that gets off the throw back wagon somewhere around 70’s disco and 80’s glam. It also seems to be kissing cousins with today’s electro pop chic. In some dark and hidden part of my soul, buried beneath the Dior and Chanel, exists a place that secretly thrills at…Ke$ha’s garbage chic, LMAFO’s sequined/ripped/whaaa? And the various crazy children making their own style. All the rips, the glitter, the sparkles, the sequins. As crazy as it can be and even downright ugly; often times it is fun and exciting. Here’s a quick I'd take the look out for a spin. How would you style it??
